Cowboy Up!

Danny has got a rocking horse from some neighbors and he loves it! The neighbors kid outgrew it. (he's 8 and Isaiah's best friend) If anyone else comes near and wants to ride it, he treats them like real horse bandits and tries to take 'em out.

We've been benched!

Last week Isaiah went to Tucson with us and some other little guy named Xavier took over his spot at quarterback and did well. I coach the defense, so another coach took that spot over. It's a little real estate agent that isnt much larger then the kids. Anyway, the kids win 18-0 the first week. So when we come back to practice, Isaiah gets put on the Offensive line. He always wins the king of the hill competition as the strongest blocker anyway so he can make some holes.
Well, last Saturday we come up against the Far West Pop Warner league. Its considered a bowl game. Its a bunch of little barrio kids from the west side. Only one white kid in the bunch, and the team is undefeated. As they line up, the little mexicans and black kids are telling our kids how they are going to kill them. I get worried and think were gonna lose by 42.
Anyway , with me on on the sidelines, we dominate on defense and offense. Isaiah blasted through and made some big tackles behind the line. We ended up intimidating them and winning 12-0. I ended up telling the head coach he should've benched me 4 games back. So we've outscored the other folks 30-0 the last 2 games and we have one bowl game left. I'll stay on the bench.

Lemme try this

No Happy Face again today

He refused to stand in line and pledge allegiance to the flag (both the U.S. and the Christian Flag) and he made noises and jostled other students during the pledge. So no happy face yet. The teacher said he knows his stuff, but he's stubborn.

Did you know there is a Christian Flag and Pledge? Kinda scary, huh? I guess that flag is what the Salvation Army is fighting for with their Christian weapons, like the Rod of Faith, the Shield of Righteousness, the Sword of Discernment and the Bible of Thumpingness. Weird...

Gabriel has yet to get a happy face at preschool

since they started giving them out last week. For some reason he decided to go on strike and stopped doing his work and refused to participate in "circle time." He just sat off by himself watching everybody else.

Then he started to do his work again but he also decided to start spitting at the teacher and anybody and everything. When the teacher asked him to stop he just laughed at her. He is really testing the limits to see how much he can get away with.

Then I came to pick him up and she told me> He refused to apologize to her, so he got a "pow-pow." I'm sure that put a stop to the spitting, but we'll see what he comes up with today.

I showed Gabriel the names of all the nice kiddies who got happy faces and he seemed unimpressed. Instead he pointed to the names of the three or four public enemies who didn't get happy faces by their names and said, "See this one diodn't get a happy face, that one didn't get a happy face."

He's a rebel, I guess, but at least he's not crying anymore.

Gabriel had his 4th Birthday on October 16th

We had a party for him with two cakes and two pinatas and it was a lot of fun even though he refused to hit the pinatas. Gabriel's cake had soccer players playing a game on it.

Miguel turned one August 2nd so we had a Scooby Doo cake and Pinata for him too even though it was two months late. The pinata was one of those generic mexican ones so even though it was scooby doo it looked like some sort of mutant donkey. Miguel didn't seem to mind and even took a few whacks at the pinata.

We got beat agin this weekend

Must be bad coaching! We lost 25-12 it was 19-6 at halftime, so we matched up pretty good after halftime, but our kids were having serious trouble with their little mexican star #34. he was running around them in the first half. Our little mexican star running back broke loose for some real stylish touchdowns, nice cuts and things but it wasn't enough. I am considering recommending to put our little mexican at quarterback and moving isaiah to runningback to reduce the need for handoffs, because of the occassional fumble that really hurts us. Anyway were not a very good team it seems. I hope its not my coaching...
