Gabriel the fashion trendsetter...

Gabriel is now refusing to wear two socks at a time. He would rather just wear a single sock at all times, or as he says "I want to wear one sock and zero shoes in the house."

When asked why he was insisting on doing this he said "It's safer, if I'm wearing two socks I might slip." I suspect it initially had something to do with the fact that he likes spinning in circles on one sock while propelling himself with his other sockless foot.

Anyway now he insists one wearing one sock and only one sock all the time, even while he is wearing shoes.

When I ask him why he doesn't want to wear the other sock, Gabriel replies "Because it's yucky and dirty!"

When he is wearing his Crocs (sandal type shoes) I try to get him to take off both socks, but he absolutely refuses, insisting that he needs to wear at least one sock with his Crocs even though it looks absolutely ridiculous.

I blame his mom for all his weird tendencies and she in turn blames me. Personally I think the kid got a double dose of all out weirdish tendencies.

So anyway, now Miguel is doing it because he wants to be like Gabriel.

At least it cuts down on laundry...

Gabriel is now doing work in school...

He is still very shy and not social at all.

I am not worried about him being able to do the work as he goes to bed with his favorite calculator every night, loves math and is contantly asking me questions about acute angles, obtuse angles and right angles that I can't answer. He also seems to have taught himself how to read quite a bit as well, surprising me with some big words he knows, since I haven't been pushing the reading thing much.

But the socialization is still pretty slow. At home he talks, laughs and fights a lot, but at school?

Nothing...

We kept him back so he's not in kindergarden yet, which will make him one of the older kids in his grade instead of one of the youngest, so hopefully that helps.
