Gabriel and Miguel Meet ther First Mexican-American Astronaut (He's from Stockton) !!
He autographed a picture to them "To Gabriel and Miguel, Keep reaching for the stars! Jose Hernandez. (He used to be a poor migrant farm worker, before he got an education and became an engineer and then an astronaut.) So he is a good role model and inspiration and he will be even better when he gets to space and folows in the footsteps of fictional space Mexicans like Ricardo Montalban (Khaaaaaaan!!) and Robert Beltran (who plays Chacotay (sp?) on Voyager)
There is also a half Latino (Bolivian) half Chinese Astronaut named Franklin Chang-Diaz who we also want to meet some day. (He's the first Lachino Astronaut and he's been on a bunch of shuttle flights) We went to NASA and bought T-Shirts and Mission patches with his name on it last time we were in Florida. So that was pretty cool...

Frankiln Chang-Diaz is half Costa Rican half Chinese. Also Edward James Olmos is in Space now too as Commander Adama for the new Battlestar Galactica.
CORRECTION ! Franklin Chang is 100% Costa Rican and the very first latino austronaut.
He is half chinese, hence the "Chang." Take a look at his photo on the NASA site. That makes him the first Lachino astronaut.
